Apple - Linux na iPodzie nie usuwa gwarancji

17.06.06, 03:51
ipodlinux.org/FAQ#Why_is_the_PP5020_faster_than_the_PP5002.3F
Just got off the phone with an Apple representative. He said that the official
1-year warranty issued from Apple is a hardware warranty. He also said that in
the event of a software failure, all they would do is restore it, and send it
back. In the event of a hardware failure, they would repair or replace it, and
since installing iPodLinux on it doesn't require opening it and tampering with
the hardware, it is still covered by the warranty. See iPodLinux:Copyrights
for more information.

Cytat z gwarancji Apple na iPody:

This warranty does not apply: (a) to damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, misapplication, or non-
Apple products; (b) to damage caused by service performed by anyone other than Apple; (c) to a
product or a part that has been modified without the written permission of Apple; or (d) if any Apple
serial number has been removed or defaced.

Czyli jesli linux zainstalowany na iPodzie coś schrzani albo w nim, albo w komputerze, do którego jest
podpinany (np. doprowadzi do skasowania plików muzycznych), albo uszkodzi ten hardware, to Apple
go nie naprawi na gwarancji. iTyle
