Israeli Air Force Improves Precision
The Israeli Air Force (IAF) has improved its capability to carry out
pinpointed attacks against terrorists while minimizing the risk to civilians,
the top IAF commander told a Knesset panel this week. Appearing before the
Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee for the first time, as
commander of the IAF was Maj. Gen. Eliezer Shekadi, who said the air force
has "had achievements with pinpoint prevention that could not be accomplished
six months ago." He said the air force had developed "technology and
intelligence that made it possible to strike at an individual terrorist while
they are in a traveling car, without innocent people in the vicinity being
harmed."
