A house near Hyde Park has become
the most expensive residence sold in
London this year. The price of
£138 million is also the second highest
ever paid for a home in the capital.
The buyer is Adar Poonawalla, the
self-proclaimed “prince of vaccines”.
He is the chief executive of Serum
Institute of India (SII), the world’s
largest vaccine producer.
Aberconway House in Mayfair,
which is grade II-listed and has
23,000 sq ft of living space, will
change hands after a sale was agreed
by Dominika Kulczyk, daughter of
the late businessman Jan Kulczyk,
who was Poland’s richest man.
Kulczyk bought the property three
years ago for £57 million.
