working in England???

10.09.04, 09:47
Sorry for writing in English but my written Polish is very bad. I am a
British journalist looking for Poles who went to England after May 1.
Especially interested if you had a bad time in the country. Please contact me
on mday@polandmonthly.pl

Why you track people in troubles instead those in luck at UK ?

It's my job. Anyway, I will speak to people who have a had a good experience
but if I can talk with people who had a bad time maybe I can stop other people
having a bad time. Warn them and advise them.

Hi, You might find it difficult to get people to talk about their failure. I
read Poland Monthly and think that you have a good point, it could prevent some
misfortunes in future. I hope that the reason you have used rather siple words
in English is for others to understand better. Anyway I am planning on going to
work there. I'll let you know if something goes wrong.
          Yours sincerely Dora04

            Thanks,

What are you going to do there?

Oh, really :D That's not your cup of tea, journalist...
They really need your attention: www.unicef.org.uk/

Many journalists are already writing about problems in Darfur so it would be
pointless of me covering the situation, but thank you anyway.

No problem. So try this: www.avoca.ndirect.co.uk/enigma/
              • Gość: sevenoaks Re: working in England??? IP: 217.153.70.* 14.09.04, 16:19
                Thanks,
Wrote an article on this matter when the film 'Enigma' was released. Spoke to
                Mr. Garlinski. Interesting man.
                • Gość: ToeToe Re: working in England??? IP: 194.223.152.* 15.09.04, 01:44
But who spoke to Garlinski? Who wrote the article?... (Any links? names?)
BTW I am pretty sure that if you've been to any recent unexplained events,
interesting places, you most likely have no interest in "any bad time for
anyone".. The topic is really borring, tendentious and trivial...

                  • Gość: sevenoaks Re: working in England??? IP: 217.153.70.* 15.09.04, 10:25
I spoke to Garlinski. No links because I wrote the article some three years ago
for a magazine which I think no longer exists. When it comes to things being
tedious...thankfully the numbers of Poles who have had a bad experience in the
UK are very small, but some have (have a look at yesterday's Rzeczpospolita). I
spoke to a charity worker in London who said that he knows some Poles who have
been living on the streets since May. Why don't you go and explain to them that
nobody wants to hear about their plight because you find it and them boring.
Should we just pretend that they don't exist and hope that winter will kill
                    them??

Learn about who keeps on coming to the UK from Polish forum:
                      londynek.net/dyskusje/forum?forum_id=3184
Polish language required, but I think it can give you a flavour on indiviuduals
who come to London, their approach and problems.
