Letter to the Poles

31.08.09, 08:39
There are some interesting sentences in this letter, like “tragedy
of Polish nation during the WWII”, however there are pretty obvious.
But we can find still many mistakes in Russian thinking. For example
the equal sign between Russia and Soviet Union. Putin talks about
the “tragedy of the Red Army in 1920 in Poland”. Sorry, but similar
could somebody in Germany say about “tragedy of Wermacht by
Stalingrad”.

This “tragedies” were happy cases for the world. Of course each
Soviet soldier suffering in 1920 can be mentioned because the human
suffering is similar, no matter in which political context, but this
context is important too. The Red Army was a military tool of crime
communist regime in the Soviet Union, trying to destroy democratic,
independent state of Poland and probably the rest of Europe. That’s
the huge difference. Polish soldiers in 1920 defended not only the
own country but the European values which are now accepted even in
Russia after the Soviet era.

Polish soldiers in 1920 attacked Soviet Russia! It resulted in nothing good.
They (Polish) conquered neibourgh nations like Belarusians and Ukrainians and
organised Uprisings in Upper Silesia(inhabited by various nations). Polish still
claim they are Christ of Nations - it is (sorry) bullshit.
      • michnikredgestapo Soviets attacked Poles and Ukrainians in 1919 01.09.09, 08:33
That's nonsense. After enslaving Russians, Communists attacked Poles
and Ukrainians. Poland managed to defend itself but most of Ukraine
was conquered by the Reds and subsequently millions of Ukrainian
peasants were starved to death by them. Communists were not only
ethnic Russians. Many Russians, particularly Cossacks fought against
        them.

You are absolutely right. What Russians want is to erase and forget,
or minimise Stalin's crimes while glorifying Red Army's heroism.
    • toja3003 clear values and regulations 01.09.09, 15:31
Fidel Castro has an own point of view and somebody in North Korea or
China or Russia or Sudan can have the own too. But we in European
Union and in Polish Constitution have very clear values and
regulations: communism is defined as a crime system against mankind
and glorifying such system or its symbols or red army or Stalin or
Lenin or KGB etc. is forbidden by law.

And this European and Polish law is respected by all nations in our
Union and in our Polish State. The sooner Russia and Russians will
accept these facts the better for Russia and Russians.
