Canadian soldiers in Afghanistan could soon have access to four more
Polish helicopters, The Canadian Press reports. This would bring to
six the number of helicopters Poland is contributing to Canada. The
six Russian-made Mi-17 helicopters would be made available on "a
contribution basis" and would require Canada pay for their use. The
helicopters could be in place this summer and could stay for a year—
long enough for the six CH-47D Chinooks Canada is purchasing to
arrive in Kandahar.
