The dialogue of four cultures

26.08.05, 11:16
The festival the dialogue of four cultures started in my home town Łódź. A
hundred years ago My belaved Home Town was muliticultular. This multicuti
were predominantly caused by nationality of inhabitans -: Polish, Jews,
German, and Rusian (predominantly car's officaials only 2%). Polish were
minority - less then 50 %. the mentioned nations had builded the power of
my City. In 1850 in Lodz lived less the 10.000 inhabitans, in 1890 Lodz
population exceed half milion. curently Lodz is unicultular. Russian lived
Lodz in 1915 after battaly of Lodz when German army overbeat Russian in WWI
and never came back - In 1918 Poland was a free cuontry again. Juden had been
exterminated by nazi German. German has escaped in 1945, they afraid Red
Army.

Despaite its current unicultular character The city authorities stil remeber
about the origins of my home town and organise the festival. The artists from
Poland Israel, Germany and Russia came for some time to Lodz in
august/september every year. By the way the two beutifull ortodox churches
still egsit.

      Sad story.
I never heard of festival in Łódź. I just know about one in Krakow.
I have once seen they were singing old songs of Bulat Okudzhava.
(A Russian bard of Georgian origin).
      It was great.

I think that you don't have to introduce Okudzhava in Poland, he's very well
        known here:)
