About: IFG is a tool to generate iptables rules. This
program can work with the INPUT and OUTPUT chains of the
filter table. It can create rules for diferents protocols
(TCP, UDP, ICMP), IP addresses, and ports. You can choose
different interfaces (lo, eth0, ppp0), choose the state
of a connection, and LOG all the rules. It also has an
option to save all the rules that you made into a file.
The program was written in GTK+ 2, and the interface was
      made with glade-2.

Changes: It is now possible to save the rules in a file.
The capacity to produce rules was augmented.

      ThinkPad Buttons 0.4.2
by Markus Braun - Thursday, December 12th 2002 07:16 PST

About: ThinkPad Buttons enables the special keys that are
found on the keyboard of an IBM ThinkPad. It is possible

includes many filter options, spam fighting features,
custom folders, and email-to-PDF generation. The Webtop

      Libxml 2.4.30
      by DV - Thursday, December 12th 2002 05:32 PST

About: Libxml is the XML C library developed for the
Gnome project. The library code is portable (to Linux,
Unix, Windows, embedded systems, etc.) and modular; most
of the extensions can be compiled out. Libxml implements
a number of existing standards related to markup
languages, including the XML standard, Namespaces in XML,
XML Base, RFC 2396, XPath, XPointer, HTML4, XInclude,
SGML Catalogs, and XML Catalogs. In most cases, libxml
tries to implement the specifications in a relatively
strict way. To some extent, it provides support for the
following specifications, but doesn't claim to implement
them: DOM, FTP client, HTTP client, SAX, and DocBook
SGML. Support for W3C XML Schemas is in progress.

Changes: Release 2.4.29 broke the Python bindings. 2.4.30
fixes them and the API XML description.

      lvs-kiss 1.1 (Stable)
      by perbu - Thursday, December 12th 2002 04:24 PST

About: lvs-kiss is designed to make load-balancing with
fail-over simpler. The primary design-goal is for you to
get load-balancing with fail-over up and running withing
an hour or so. The secondary design goal is to be able to
make this software as flexible as possible. Embedding of
perl in configuration-files and load-balancing with
custom made tests should be possible without too much hassle.

Changes: This version includes a new keyword in the RIP
section, LoadFactor. The init script was rewritten to be
more portable. There are many improvements to the
documentation. The validity of the configuration file is
now checked before starting up, and the configuration
file is reread (if valid) on SIGHUP.

      distcc 0.15
by Martin Pool - Thursday, December 12th 2002 04:22 PST

About: distcc is a program that distributes compilation
of C code across several machines on a network, resulting
in speed increases of 1.5 to 10 times. It does not
require machines to share a filesystem, have the same
libraries or header files, or superuser privileges.

Changes: A new scheme is used to call the preprocessor
that works with some proprietary compilers. Portability
for IRIX and Solaris has been improved, and the user
manual updated. The default TCP port has changed to a new
      IANA-assign
