At times, we all have an axe to grind. Currently, I'm grinding my axe in
regards to Pres. Saddam Hussain's shenanigans. Here's my side of the story:
In order to solve the big problems with Saddam, we must first understand
these problems, and to understand them, we must shine a light on his efforts
to create an atmosphere of mistrust, in which speculations and rumors gain
the appearance of viability and compete openly with more carefully considered
theories. Although some lackadaisical voluptuaries concede that there should
be a law against this, they invariably deny that my purpose here is not to
serve on the side of Truth. Well, okay, it is. But I should point out that we
must overcome the fears that beset us every day of our lives. We must
overcome the fear that he will promulgate partisan prejudice against others.
And to overcome these fears, we must build a sane and healthy society free of
Saddam's destructive influences. Now that this letter has come to an end, I
unquestionably hope you walk away from it realizing that dichotomous thinking
has stymied Pres. Saddam Hussain's ability to reach solutions.
