"FRANCE. Yves Saint Laurent Beauté unveiled a range of new products across its
substantial portfolio at last month’s TFWA World Exhibition.
For the group’s flagship YSL brand, colour will be a key focus in 2005. For
travel retail specifically, the company has updated its Travel Selection range
and merchandising.
“We have made this collection much more impactful, with improved graphics and
picturegrams,” Vice President International Operational Marketing Nadine
Gravier told The Moodie Report. “We have also moved the logo to the top of our
sets, and introduced new colours and different palettes.”
New for 2005 is a kit comprising three lip colours, three eye shadows and a
bronzing powder. These will be presented in a reusable, black YSL logoed pouch.
In the first half, YSL’s lip repertoire will be expanded with Touche
Brillance. And in March 2005 the company will introduce Rouge Pure Shine,
which features innovati"ve gloss/stick packaging. Multi-packs will be
available for travel retail.
A new mascara launch is slated for the second semester.
“We have created a new global animation, called ‘Les Fleurs’, for both
fragrance and make-up, which we will adapt for different markets,” revealed
Gravier. Accordingly, YSL’s Spring Look will feature flower glosses. And there
will be new themed, seasonal fragrance versions: Fleurs de Shanghaï Opium and
Paris Jardin de Roses.
YSL has also created a new, limited-edition version of its In Love Again
fragrance, called Fleur de la Passion. “This features a new juice and new
packaging,” explained Gravier. “The concept is to offer a ‘greeting card’ from
YSL. Asia will be a key target market.”
The original In Love Again fragrance was created in 1998 to commemorate
designer Yves Saint Laurent’s forty years in the fashion business. The company
re-introduced the scent — in updated packaging — last spring to celebrate the
40th anniversary of the company’s first fragrance, Y. YSL now plans to refresh
the franchise with a new version every year.
YSL’s Baby Doll fragrance will also remain a key focus for Asia. In 2005 the
company will introduce a new Candy Pink “lollipop concept” limited edition.
This will be supported with a new miniature coffret, new media visual, and a
Baby Doll make-up look.
Within skincare for YSL, two key events next year include an Advanced
Anti-Wrinkle treatment from the Lisse Expert collection, and extensions to the
company’s Clarté Extrême line.
Within fragrance, YSL is rolling out its new female blockbuster, Cinéma. With
regard to the group’s other brands, next year there will be a new summer
version of Alexander McQueen Kingdom, featuring birds and cherry blossom on
the packaging. And a completely new fragrance from McQueen will be unveiled in
the second half.
The group will introduce a new Zegna fragrance in 2005, to correspond with the
introduction of the company’s Z sportswear collection.
Lastly Stella , the first women’s fragrance from UK designer Stella McCartney,
will be supported by heavy media investment in 2005. And there will be a
limited-edition Sheer Stella 30ml duo for the travel retail channel. "
Sporo limitowanych edycji. Wyglada, ze ulubione ILY zostanie wycofane na rzecz
kolejnej, corocznych wersji- Fleur de la Passion, hmm, no zobaczymy.
