Tough luck for Kaczorowski
Friday 13 September 2002
KP Polonia Warszawa have lost another key player for the forthcoming UEFA Cup
first round tie with FC Porto.
Torn thigh muscle
Right-sided midfield player Pawel Kaczorowski, who scored for Poland in last
week's opening EURO 2004™ qualifying game in San Marino, has suffered a torn
thigh muscle and will be out of contention for at least three weeks. "I'm out
of Polonia's league and cup matches," Kaczorowski said. "So, it means I'm
also doubtful for our next national team match against Latvia."
Bak problems
Polonia will also be without their captain Arkadiusz Bak, who will miss the
next six weeks after undergoing surgery for an attack of appendicitis. Bak
remains in the Krakow hospital where he was first diagnosed as suffering from
this rather unusual ailment for a footballer.
