Richard Wright has agreed to join Everton in a Ł3.5million deal - rising to
Ł4.5million on appearances.
The Arsenal keeper has finalised terms with the Goodison Park outfit and is
expected to put pen to paper on Thursday morning.
As soon as Wright has signed, he will fly to Scotland to join up with the
rest of David Moyes' squad on their pre-season tour, where he is likely to
make his debut in Saturday's friendly with Dunfermline.
Chief Executive Michael Dunford said: "We're delighted that Richard has
agreed to join. And when everything is complete, he will travel to Scotland
to join up with the first team squad."
Wright, 24, underwent a medical at the Toffees' Bellefield headquarters and
thrashed out personal terms despite a last-minute plea from Arsenal boss
Arsene Wenger.
The keeper then asked for a further 24 hours to consider the move before
giving Everton his answer on Wednesday motning.
Everton are also expected to tie up the signing striker Rodrigo this
afternoon, after the Brazilian passed a medical at Bellefield. The Toffees
are now waiting for the correct documentation to arrive from South America
before completing the deal.
