"LOT Polish Airlines (LO/LOT) had applied to the Canadian
Transportation Agency (CTA) for a temporary increase in frequencies
between Poland and Toronto for the peak summer months. The airline
is currently restricted to a maximum of five trips per week. Air
Canada and Air Transat are the designated Canadian airlines to serve
Poland and Air Transat objected to the LOT application on the
grounds that the market was adequately served now and that trans-
atlantic bookings in general were down over last year. The CTA
agreed and denied LOT the extra flights requested for June 26, July
17, and August 14, 21 and 28."
