'Israel to modernize Polish army'
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has discussed Israeli arms sale to
his country with war minister Ehud Barak in a telephone
conversation.
Tusk who was in Israel for a two-day official visit praised Israel
for its arms deals with Poland during the conversation.
Barak, for his part, promised to modernize Polish armed forces,
media outlets reported on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Polish Defense Minister Bogdan Klich commenting on the
reports said that Israel is to equip Poland with the latest
generation of weapons because Poland is a trusted ally for Israel.
Tel Aviv and Warsaw have signed a series of arms deals in recent
years including a big contract the Polish Defense Ministry signed in
2004 with the Rafael Armament Development Authority.
