30% tax rule, which is very favourable since the normal rate is:
Concerning your taxes, company will strive to get you eligible for a 30%-ruling
(under article 15a sub (k) Wage Tax Act 1964 juncto article 9 of the 1965 Wage
Tax Implementation Decree).
Expatriates employed in the Netherlands on a temporary basis may in certain
situations avail themselves of the so-called 30% facility as it is known. The
facility allows company to grant 30% of your wages as a tax-free lump sum
allowance for the extra costs of your stay in the Netherlands (extraterritorial
costs).
In order to be able to apply the facility both company and you must together
submit an application to the tax-authorities. Once the application has been
approved, the 30% facility may be applied, if necessary retroactively, for a
maximum of 120 months (including an extension).
