Palestinian Bravery Will Be Rewarded

10.03.02, 03:36
As Israel continues to wage its ferocious war and state-sponsored terrorism
against the Palestinians, inflicting incalculable human and material damage,
the world will continue to be accused of indifference to the plight of a people
under occupation. The daily atrocities committed by the Zionist occupiers have
increased dramatically since hawkish Prime Minister Ariel Sharon assumed power
a year ago.

Despite the terror unleashed against the Palestinians, analysts agree that
Israel’s military might has failed to suppress the Palestinian uprising. It has
been nine years since the Oslo Accords, but the children of the intifada have
proven themselves stronger than their enemies in their will and determination
to reach out for freedom.

As many already know, Sharon’s case as a war criminal was raised to a Belgian
court for his role in the massacres at the Sabra and Chatila refugee camps
twenty years ago, in which more than 3000 Palestinians were killed. It is
feared that U.S. pressure on the Belgian authorities may thwart the attempts to
bring Sharon to justice. As a prelude to this, the International Court of
Justice ruled that, in a case in which a Rwandan is accused of genocide, the
Belgian court does not have jurisdiction.

The support of the current American administration to Sharon and his government
has encouraged him to continue with his mad policies against the men, women and
children of the occupied territories. The world remains silent as American-made
Israeli weapons of death spread terror among civilians and target every sign of
the Palestinian authority. Yasser Arafat remains under siege in Ramallah, while
Israeli forces have deployed the most sophisticated weaponry to kill and maim
as many Palestinians as possible. The aim is to break the will to resist
occupation.
