Dlaczego sie mowi: Grand theft auto, lub Major League Baseball, a nie auto(mobile) grand theft czy baseball major league?

'grand theft' okresla auto, ktore zapewne bylo przedmiotem wiekiej kradziezy
'major league' okresla klase baseball. 'Top class baseball' not 'baseball top
class'.
I know what I'm trying to say but am I getting there?

You are surely getting there :) My thoughts exactly, just wanted to make sure, it was always kind of a puzzler to me...and the forum was dead for a while, so I thought I liven it up a bit.
