Glam rock fans were yesterday in shock at the news of Brain Slade's faked
death. It was revealed yesterday that the singer faked his own death in front
of thou- sands of fans at one of his gigs earlier this year. The whole stunt
was a publicity ploy thought up by Slade's record company in attempt to
promote record sales. However, this time it might have backfired as fans,
disappointed by their idol's dis- loyalty, were today upset at the news.
"I used to respect Brian Slade for his music and class," one fan said, "but
now I just feel as if I have been used. It's as if he has no feelings for his
loyal fans who have stood by him in the past." Next Wednesday the leaders
will present their post- stage three pay strategy, which they hope will
convince them.
