Poland declared on 7 November that it is prepared to offer $200
million (€156 million), and indicated in its statement that it
would “join a consortium of countries that will provide financial
assistance to Iceland”, adding that “the consortium is expected to
consist of the IMF, Scandinavian countries, the United Kingdom, the
