To be a fly on the wall or to want to be one, is to want to be away when something very unpleasant happens (in Polish I suppose "rozpłynąć się" or "być niewidzialnym" would do the trick). For instance: "I would give everything to be a fly on the wall when the boss finds out we are so behind the schedule".

Zgadza się, "Fly on the wall" to program kręcony na żywo, w który reżyser
nie ingeruje, tylko go "obserwuje", jak taka mucha siedząca na ścianie.

Z "wykładnią" jana.kulczyka spotykam się pierwszy raz. IMHO muchą na ścianie
chcemy być z ciekawości, żeby coś zobaczyć nie będąc widzianymi, a nie ze
strachu.
