militaria i te nieszczęsne akronimy ang-pol

10.02.07, 09:15
Kochani to znowu ja. Szukam od wczoraj wieczór objaśnienia dwóch kolejnych
skrótów "LWA" i "SWA". Cały tekst dotyczy testowania pojazdów logistycznych i
lekko opancerzonych pod kątem bezpieczeństwa użytkujących je w przyszłości
żołnierzy. Podczas testowania opancerzenie jest poddawane ostrzeliwaniu.

A oto kontekst: "The shot locations selected should be such as to maximize
the number of LWAs tested that also incorporate any prevailing geometric
criteria described in Annex B."

"Testing any LWAs present within a potential SWA shall be emphasized."

Czy LWA= Light Wire Armour, a SWA= Single Wire Armour? I co to tak właściwie
oznacza? Utknęłam w miejscu i chyba bez Was ani rusz...Podpowiecie cosik?
Pozdrowionka.

Localized weak areas (LWA): znane obszary/pola/miejsca mniejszej odpornosci
(balistycznej opancerzenia). Np. linie spoin wkladek ceramicznych ukryte pod
      pancerzem wierzchnim

Structural weak areas (SWA): konstrukcyjne obszary/pola/miejsca mniejszej
odpornosci (balistycznej opancerzenia). Np. obrysy okien/drzwi, inne otwory w
pancerzu, linie spoin spawanych plyt pancerza (zmiania w zahartowaniu moejsc
spoin poprzez nagrzanie podczas spawania itp.)

Moje propozycje nie sa urzedowe. Z pewnoscia w kolach zainteresowanych
instytucji istnieja bardziej obowiazujace okreslenia. Zapytaj sie w polskich
firmach zajmujacych sie ta tematyka (np. Bumar, HSW (Huta Stalowa Wola) itp.).

      1. Vehicle main areas (MA): These are the relatively uniform vehicle
armour panel areas that provide protection coverage against the specified
ballistic threat Levels. However, these vehicle MAs may not be fully
homogeneous in their protection and could contain zones of ballistic weakness as
      follows.

      2. Localized weak areas (LWA): Where main armour systems are
constructed from a combination of materials or rely on geometrical effects to
defeat the threats, the protection provided may not be fully consistent over the
full armour area. A typical example is the use of ceramic tiles in composite
armour where tile joints may present an area of potential weakness. Where
present, LWA are typically distributed throughout the MA.

      3. Structural weak areas (SWA): Structural weak areas are larger
main armour panel discontinuities that are potentially ballistically weak zones.
Such areas are often unavoidable in the design or construction of a vehicle.
SWA are generally edge oriented and not distributed throughout the MA. Classic
examples are component interfaces (door / windows) and main panel intersections
(welded joints and associated heat affected zones). Again, any testing within
the SWA should exploit the LWAs.

      4. Excluded Zone (EZ): When the testing of MAs is considered at
Phase 2 it is essential that testing is not carried out within or be unduly
influenced by the SWA. However, as there may be no a priori evidence for the
size of the SWA that exists at the target boundary or around boltholes, an
assumption has been made for the size of this zone. The nominated area around
such features, initially excluded for the purposes of MA testing, is designated
the Excluded Zone (EZ). This zone shall be tested in Phase 3 to validate if the
EZ is ballistically resistant or if it is a VA. At the option of the National
Authority, an assessment may be carried out in Phase 3 to determine the actual
extent of the VA within or around the nominated EZ. Details of the EZ
dimensions to be assumed are contained within Appendix 2, Table A2.1.

pewnie, aby zrobić to tłumaczenie. Żeby było śmieszniej, o ile pamietam płacą
          za to marne 20 zł/str.

          Powodzenia! smile

Miałeś rację, że nie wziąłeś. Tłumaczy się to obłędnie. Robota idzie mi żółwim
            tempem. Szkoda słów...
