Does anybody of you go to a delicatessen supermarket here in Poland, such as
Bomi, EPI, Alma, Piotr i Paweł?

PiP is on the way home from work but personally I prefer Bomi. Pip has great
fish though on Thursdays.

I live in Poznań, so I'm partial to PiP

I use PiP and Mini Europa occasionally. When I lived in Poznan I was their
client before they ever went to Warsaw. Another good shop is Emma on the way to
Katowice, and Kanwa near the airport is also pretty OK. Albert is quite a
reasonable offer - they tend tgo have good fresh bread from their own ovens
most days.

Emma is as you drive out of Warsaw to Piastow. It is on the right hand side of
the road as you come to the boundary of Piastow.

Kanwa is where the road named after some date I cannot remember that goes from
the Airport Novotel meets Aleje Krakowska. Nearby is an Italian restaurant that
looks like worse than nothing from the outside, but is reputed to be one of the
best Italian cuisines on the inside.

we once popped in to "BOMI w VIKI (Skwer Handlowy), Słupsk, ul. Wolności 6" to
pick up some beers on the way to a great party at our friend's place in
Zaleskie. thus i rate it well. being open till 9pm Mon-Sat is convenient too.

The date is 1 Sierpnia (1 August) and is the starting date of Warsaw uprising.
Honestly, I believe you should be able to remember it, considering your high
interest in Polish affairs and history...

And the restaurant is very good indeed. Not that I know the owners, but it is
always good food there. Problem is with parking place though.

But I still can't locate Kanwa there. Is this a shop in the crappy pavillon on
the other side of 1 Sierpnia? Next to the pharmacy?

Well, I didn't really put 2 and 2 together with the date. I'll remember it now.

There is a bit of a parking area on 1/8 street.

It's on the corner with Al Krakowska and is a top market. I didn't think it was
a crap shop on the inside, but the architecture's not up to much.

By the way, have you ever tried driving up to the Albert which you can see to
the right just after Raclawicka when driving towards the airport? It's a bit of
a test of intelligence to find your way up to that without a good street map.

Actually I shopped in Kanwa again today and confirm that despite the grim
outside look it has more zaletas to the average wada than most of the shops do.

I don't question many indisputable zaletas the shop has. I just don't shop
there, but at earliest convenience I'll try it out.

And I never tried to get to Albert, but I can imagine the pain
