My mother doesn't but she had to say the "co wybierasz" lines to Elena at our wedding. It took her hours of practice. It would make a good alternative to "chraszcz brzmi w trcinie". Odpowiedz Link

What about the midnight ritual of unpinning the veil > etc?? Did you have fun?? I've been at three. I don't know remember the veil thing, so maybe they don't do it in Silesia, or else someone put alcohol in my alcohol and I just don't remember midnight. I like the rituals with the knees, wooden spoons and noses, and the fact that everyone you ask will tell you they represent completely different things. The weirdest ones are church weddings - you pay for half an hour, the priest talks for 29 minutes about how Jesus loved his Polish fatherland, then he says "Now these people are married." And then they remove all the plastic flowers as a sign for folk to bugger off, and immediately put them back because another wedding starts in 30 seconds. And I like the cakes. They're not as good as Scottish weddings because there's no kilts, but on the other hand there's less vomiting, fighting and pre-nuptial ritual humiliation, and more cakes. The music's equally crap.
