Life in Warshaw, salaries level

27.03.09, 16:03
I'm thinking about job offer in Warshaw. And now I'm interested in
average salary level in chied accountant position.
What are average prices for flat rental, public transportation?
What are possibilites for children (2;6 yers) - babysitter,
kindergaden, school?

Thanks wink

It depends on the comapny and the system.

If you are chief accountant in a dynamic, cash rich Company where
they want you to speak languages and you do, and they need you to
know SAP, JD Edwards, or something else like that and you do, then
you could be looking at 30,000 a month.

Or you could be chief accountant for some bucket shop company and
      earn 2000 per month. Seriously.

Flats depends entirely on size, quality and location. If you need to
live at 1000 PLN a month, you will, but it will be a pokey place in
a bad area. For 5000 a month you can live like a king.

Public transport is about 200 PLN for three months on a city card.
That's all the trams, the buses and the metro.

Preschools are not always easy to find, the good ones have waiting
lists and they are also quite expensive. Even despite the recession,
nannies and babysitters are expensive and often unreliable. Their
use of the standard Polish cop-out phrase "nie aktualnie" breaks
word frequency records on a planetary scale.

      Hth.

excuse me, 30 grand a month! are you serious? (if so I have to let a certain
        someone know about this!)
