"What we are working to achieve in Iraq is vital to transforming a dangerous
region of the world, and promoting long-term peace and security. And we must
continue to do all we can to support the Iraqi people as they move forward on
freedom and democracy, and it's important that we complete the mission," he
said.
"And that means training Iraqi forces so that they can provide for their own
security. At that point, our troops will be able to return home, with the
honor that they deserve," said McClellan.
