RAMALLAH, West Bank (AP) - A Palestinian farmer and a 14-year-old Palestinian
boy were shot and killed Thursday in separate incidents. parallel and

Palestinian security sources, insisting on anonymity, said the car bomb in
Ramallah was aimed at Nasser Abu Hamaid, commander of the Tanzim militia in the
Amari refugee camp. The militia is affiliated with Yasser Arafat's Fatah
organization.
West Bank security chief Jibril Rajoub complained that the car bomb attempt
came a day after the security meeting. ``This shows how serious the Israelis
are about security,'' he said. ``This is an Israeli invitation to ... send a
car bomb to Tel Aviv.''
In renewed violence, a 14-year-old Palestinian boy was killed Thursday night
near the village of Beit Umar, and a 35-year-old Palestinian farmer was shot
and killed by Israeli troops earlier while walking near the Gush Katif Jewish
settlements in Gaza.
