PUNCTUATION...

15.11.02, 16:54
Hi :o)

An English professor wrote the words, "a woman without her man is nothing" on
the blackboard and directed the students to punctuate it correctly.
The men wrote: "A woman, without her man, is nothing."
The women wrote: "A woman: without her, man is nothing."
Punctuation is everything!

Any comments?
Does punctuation in English is really so important?

funny, but neither version has correct puctuation,
and the second (women's) version lacks an article

Well, it seeems it wasn't an English professor but a student, who had been
badly educated, wrote the sentences. BTW the second sentence needs an
        exclamation mark.

'A teacher is a failed student', goes a well known saying.
