Tu sie, kurna, nie ma absolutnie z czego smiac. I to nie jest zaden sarkazm z
mojej strony - jestem autentycznie zniesmaczony ostatnim wzrostem "violet
crimes" w USA.

No, ale niestety - w USA istnieje od lat mniej wiecej dziesieciu trend
zastepowania klinik psychiatrycznych przez.... wiezienia. Jako bardziej
oplacalne - serio, sluze wyjasnieniem na zyczenie. Tylko do zamknietej kliniki
psychiatrycznej trafia sie po rozpoznaniu choroby, a do wiezienia... ot, po
zastrzeleniu 5 uczniow.

"The trend toward desinstitutionalization took over in the late 1990s and early
2000s, drastically reducing the number of state hospital beds for persons with
severe mental illnesses and greatly changing the mental health services system.
Excluding government-owned facilities, in 1995 there were 433 psychiatric
hospitals compared to 315 in 1999. The number of beds shrank from 43,497 in 1995
to 29,937 in 1999. As nursing homes took over a bigger role in the delivery of

several state mental hospitals were closing and private hospitals were filing
for bankruptcy protection in mid-2002. Community mental health centers, a less
costly alternative to inpatient psychiatric care, were overrun and more hospital
emergency rooms began taking on the care of patients with no other alternatives.
When a psychiatric patient enters an emergency room, often uninsured and unable
to pay outof-pocket costs, he or she must be held until the hospital can find a
bed in a psychiatric facility, taking hours or even days."

A bo w innych krajach taki ziom to raz sobie zabije, piec razy ukradnie, ze dwa
razy zgwalci. A w Stanach specjalizacja...

  Lekarze w hameryce wszystko zwalaja na stress albo przepisuje od razu rozne
  Prozaki aby tylko zaoszczedzic maksymalnie na kliencie no bo HMO i inne
  administracje 'health plans' gonia ich a nawet rozwiazuja umowy z lekarzami
  ktorzy za czesto przepisuja CAT,MRI i inne nieco bardziej kosztowne metody
  leczenia.. Opieka lekarska w kapitalizmie made in hamerica (i gdzie indziej tez) to jest wylacznie biznes ktory nie ma nic wspolnego z dobrem pacjenta. Dopiero pod grozba lawsuitow and criminial negligence moze pacjent wydebic od nich cos wiecej niz Prozac i Xrays..

    Gdybyś w tej Hameryce mieszkał legalnie i miał normalną pracę to i
    ubezpieczenie lekarskie miałbyś takie jak trzeba. Ja akurat z opieki medycznej
    jestem zadowolony.

      No wlasnie w tym problem: "GDYBYS....". Podobnie jak wiekszosc ludzi nie
      rozrozniasz miedzy choroba fizyczna i psychiczna.... wyjasnienie ponizej.
      
      Sytuacja w amerykanskiej psychiatrii jest KLASYCZNYM zyciowym przykladem Catch
      22 (Paragrafu 22), jesli czytales ksiazke Hellera.
      
      "The prototypical Catch-22, as formulated by Heller, considers the case of a
      U.S. Army Air Force bombardier who wishes to be excused from combat flight duty.
      In order to be excused from such duty, he must submit an official medical
      diagnosis from his squadron's flight surgeon, demonstrating that he is unfit
      because he is insane. However, according to Army regulations, any sane person
      would naturally not want to fly combat missions because they are so dangerous.
      By requesting permission not to fly combat missions, on the grounds of insanity,
      the bombardier demonstrates that he is in fact sane and therefore is fit to fly.

      Dokladnie to samo tyczy sie chorych psychicznie w amerykanskiej sluzbie zdrowia:
      
      1. Osoba zdrowa psychicznie ubezpieczy sie, bo tak nakazuje rozum. Ale osoba
      zdrowa psychicznie nie musi przebywac w zakladzie zamknietym.
      2. Osoba [powaznie] chora psychicznie powinna przebywac w zakladzie zamknietym,
      ale nie moze bez ubezpieczenia, a nie ubezpieczy sie bo jest.... wariatem.
      
      Czyli klasyczny Catch 22. Lapiesz? :)))
