Christians with sensitive ears may want to read elsewhere, as other Christians
prepare to take their case for environmental vehicles to a higher court of
appeal. A Pennsylvania-based environmental group, the Evangelical
Environmental Network, will soon be plastering four states with the rhetorical
question, What Would Jesus Drive? The group is targeting believers in North
Carolina, Iowa, Indiana and Missouri and urging them to think twice about
buying and driving fuel-drinking SUVs. Economic issues are moral issues, the
Rev. Jim Ball told Reuters. Ball, an ordained Baptist minister and leader of the
group, says the mission is to make people think about the environmental
effects of the vehicles they choose and to pick a vehicle that answers to a
higher authority: We think he is Lord of our transportation choices as well as
all our other choices,'' he told the news service.
