1. "My father served eight years at the side of another great American ?
Ronald Reagan (news - web sites). His spirit of optimism and goodwill and
decency are in this hall, and in our hearts, and will always define our party."
The Busheviks have abandoned the fiscal responsibility of Reagan a long time
ago. Reagan cut federal spending while the Busheviks exploded social expenditures.
2. "To create jobs, my plan will encourage investment and expansion by
restraining federal spending"
Again, federal spending under Bush rose faster than under any president since LBJ.
3. "To create jobs, we will expand trade and level the playing field to sell
American goods and services across the globe"
Under Bush America has had the biggest trade deficit in history of the planet.
4. "Another priority in a new term will be to help workers take advantage of
the expanding economy to find better, higher-paying jobs"
Under Bush most people who got fired and rehired earn less now than in their
old job.
5. "In this time of change, government must take the side of working families.
In a new term, we will change outdated labor laws to offer comp time and flex
time."
Time after time, the Bush administration has taken the side of big
corporations against their employees, and screwed over the employees with new
overtime rules.
6. "His policies of tax and spend ? of expanding government rather than
expanding opportunity ? are the policies of the past."
For the 3rd time, the policy of expanding government is the policy of the
Republican party.
7. "Four years ago, Iraq was a gathering threat"
It was not.
8. "Today, the government of a free Afghanistan is fighting terror"
Afghanistan is not free but under NATO occupation, and its "government" can
barely control Kabul while Taliban still controls a big chunk of the country.
9. "the army of a free Iraq is fighting for freedom"
Iraq is not free either but under brutal American occupation (just yesterday
Americans executed 17 civilians in Falluja, the only city in Iraq that can be
called somewhat free). Unless he meant the Sadr army.
10. "Do I forget the lessons of Sept. 11th and take the word of a madman, or
do I take action to defend our country?"
First, Saddam is not a madman. Second, the imperialistic aggression on Iraq
was not defending the country - just the opposite.
11. "more than 50 million people have been liberated"
No, they fell under American occupation.
12. "Iraq now has a strong prime minister"
A CIA agent (former terrorist) paid for and armed by Washington with virtually
no support among Iraqis.
13. "the people of Iraq no longer fear being executed and left in mass graves."
Now all they have to fear is being killed by a US airstrike.
14. "The wisest use of American strength is to advance freedom"
As in Orwell, occupation means freedom.
15. "I believe all these things because freedom is not America's gift to the
world, it is the Almighty God's gift to every man and woman in this world."
His psychopathic religious fundamentalism aside, freedom is not anybody's
gift. It is merely a social system agreed to upon by a group of people.
16. "By encouraging liberty at home, we will build a more hopeful America."
Time to pass Patriot Act 3!
