North Korean agency reports election of new premier

Pyongyang, 12 April: Kim Yong-il was elected premier of the DPRK Cabinet at
the 5th Session of the 11th Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK.
Born on 2 May, juche [juche] 33(1944), he served in the Korean People's Army
for nine years from juche [juche] 50(1961) and then graduated from the
University of Marine Transport to obtain the qualification of navigation
officer.
After spending three years as a three-revolution team member, he worked as
instructor and deputy director of a general bureau of the Ministry of Land
and Marine Transport for 14 years.
He was minister of land and marine transport from juche [juche] 83(1994) till
he was elected premier of the cabinet.
