On the south bank of the river Thames, the Festival will celebrate the
collaboration, creativity and cultural diversity of all London communities.
Within the New European Village site, there will be opportunity to see
cultural exhibits from new EU member countries.
This year’s Thames Festival is particularly exciting, as it is the first time
that Poland will participate.
The Polish Cultural Institute, together with the Polish National Tourist
Office will be presenting the best of Polish arts and crafts. Among those
invited from Poland, are talented lace makers, who will be joined by salt
sculptors from the famous UNESCO listed Wieliczka Salt Mine. One of Poland’s
best-known amber jewellers will be showing both modern and art nouveau
inspired pieces including necklaces, rings and brooches. You will also have
an opportunity to buy Christmas decorations.
