The uncovered tunnel

IDF forces, operating on the outskirts of Rafah near the Israeli-Egyptian
border in order to locate weapons smuggling tunnels, uncovered today
(Thursday) a weapons smuggling tunnel, the 22nd such tunnel since the
beginning of the year.

The tunnel was dug from inside the house of a wanted Hamas operative, from
underneath his bed. At present three meters of the tunnel's depth have been
uncovered as well as a knife, ropes and electrical wires that were found
inside.

During the IDF activity, Palestinians activated an explosive device at the
forces and Palestinian gunmen opened fire at the forces on several different
occasions.
