basic instinct - what did the interpreter..,

IP: 192.5.109.* 30.03.05, 22:56
have in mind? I mean the following dialogue:

Nick: 'Do you have something against ice cubes?'
Catherine: 'I like rough edges.'

Which was translated as:

- Nie lubisz lodu?
- Lubie ostra jazde.

It's kind of bizzare, when Nick asks that question Catherine is breaking up a
large lump of ice with an ice pick. Apperently, she likes both, ice and rough
edges. :) Any comment on this issue?

      I don't think it's a good translation.
Have you seen the movie? If that's the 1992 movie, I can't remember much. I
know she was a suspect and I think she was the lesbian killer as well. It could
be in reference to the way people died from ice pick stab wounds or perhaps ice
pick is good for foreplay??? I think it will be easier for you to get the drift
      once you see the movie.

I don't really remember the movie very well but I think it's because the faces
of an ice cube are smooth, whereas she likes "rough edges" (rebelious,
eccentric?). There is a metaphor here, which the translation does not convey.
      Well.......I can be totally wrong...
