Wow, Joe really DOES know it all:)
              ---------------------------------
In a world language, more than ONE way of saying the same thing IS OK!

                Rather distasteful on your part.

It does tke some effort to master the language to the point that subtle
                inflections and nuances are conveyed.
                we are translating
                "w te i z powrotem..", prawda?

you could also say 'up and down' to mean 'there and back/back and forth'

or, if you prefer, you could ignore the exact geography of your movements and
                  say:
I've been running around like a blue-arsed fly all morning - not so accurate
                  but more colourful :)

..or to say (in Georgia redneck)
Like a pregnant fox in the forest fire

there and back, back and forth, ALL RIGHT?!
                      --------------------------------------------
I'm easy like Sunday morning...thanks for your concern:)

Joe, NOBODY doubts your competence. Your nick is quite amusing, too.
Why are you offended?! There really IS more than ONE and only way to say the
same thing correctly and appropriately. Believe me...'cause little green men
                        have told me so!
                        -------------------------------------------
                        Easy like Sunday morning...:)

                        Zazwyczaj:
"there and back" sugeruje, ze cos odbywa/lo sie raz: "(raz) tam i (raz) z
powrotem"; np: "It takes 40 minutes there and back".

"to(-ing) and fro(-ing)", "back and forth" sugeruje, ze cos sie odbywa/lo wiele
                        razy.

                        :)

                          to najwspanialsze;)

gwoli scislosi, w te i z powrotem , mialo byc uzyte w zdaniu
Nie chce mi sie (nie oplaca mi sie) latac w te i z powrotem do Polski, na 2
                          tygodnie, by zaraz musiec wracac.
                          • easystreet Re: I've been running around like a blue-arsed fl 25.09.05, 18:27
It's not worth it to fly there and back just for a week or two.
It's not worth flying back and forth every couple of weeks. Deadeasy is "dead
                            on" the ball!
