You can't find it because its not a word. Give me a sentence and I will try it.

Well, it is a word. It's quite new and very technical.
Backlit means that LCD display is lit from the back. The light is being emited
from behind the screen which appears to be bright.
If you take a look at your LCD watch you can't see what time it is until you
position it the way that it reflects the light. Imagine yourself positioning
your laptop the same way. There comes the backlit to the rescue.

        so..
when shooting a backlit subject, be careful that the lens is not aimed at
        extremely bright light.

it does not make too much sense for me, what kind of subject they are talking
        about?

        thanks in advance

Well, they are talking about photography. When you take a picture of an object
which is illuminated from behind ,(backlit:-)), you must make sure that the
camera lens does not pick up too much of this light. If it does your subject
          will come out dark.

Subject in this case means any object or person you are taking picture of.

Well, there is in fact at least ONE dictionary, where you can find 'backlit'
