phrasal verbs

Hi Jonny!

My question is about phrase <check in>. I've read that it is a non separable
phrasal verb. I imagined a situation in a hotel saying to a receptionist:
'Check in him, please' instead of 'Check him in, please' and I realised that
the first sentence sounds a little bit odd to me.

The other thing is I am not sure about the phrasal verb to 'think over'.
Does the meaning is the same in this two sentences?:
1. ... I will think it over.
2. ... I will think over this.

Thank you for explaining this issues to me.

      Hi!
Yes, you are right, "check in" is a non separable phrasal verb
meaning the preposition must follow the main verb.

You could say, "Check him in.." or "Check them in..." it's fine.

Both of your examples (1) & (2) mean to "consider," though "I will
think over this" is not so common.
