Gość: Lily Re: LCCI Level III IP: *.neoplus.adsl.tpnet.pl 24.11.03, 21:54 It doesn't have to be a website concerning LCCI exams - it can be any website with businness english exercises... Or some texts (easy texts, so that I don't have to spend time with a dictionary) about: 1. Earning a living: - Wages and Living Standards - Job types - agriculture, factory, service industries - Employer/employee relationships 2. Production and sale of goods: - Distribution: origin and destination of product - Retail and Wholesale outlets: competition between small shops, supermarkets etc. - Declining markets and new markets - Consumer protection 3. Trade: - Imports/Exports - importance to the economy of a country - International Trade - Why is it necessary? - Problems in developing countries - need for aid and trade - Trade blocks eg. EC, ASEAN 4. Money: - Using money - methods of paying/purchasing - Inflation - general and personal consequences - Money and the traveller: exchange rates - taking money abroad - Banking - personal - different types for different needs - Savings - savings facilities in Poland 5. Transport: - Types of transport in Poland for: the individual |> problems, advantages, commerce and industry |> improvements? local infra-structure |> road, rail, air, sea 6. Communucations: - Media: TV, newspapers, effect on the individual of newspapers, TV, advertising - Information Technology: developments of computers - effects on business and the life of individual - Telephone, fax, electronic mail 7. Education: - The candidate's personal experience of education/training for a career in business or commerce //(I know it should be my experience but I need some support) :-))) 8. Travel and tourism: - Tourism and the local area - Tourism in a nation's economy - The importnace of travel to the individual It would be great if those texts were reffering to Polish businesses, but it is not necessary. Thanks in advance for all your help.

And what's a better idea than reading texts...? :-) > lepiej do LCCI III potrenuj uklady formalne > pism, i tzw. registers, a takze zwroty uzywane w pismach etc, bo to jest > punktowane na pisemnym The only thing I'm afraid of is that there won't be enough time.... I know how to write all the letters, reports, memos, faxes etc., but it takes some time to do it :-) But I'm really afraid of speaking part...... > ustny ma tylko oceny pass i fail Are you sure? I didn't know that.... Thanks for your help... I'm a little bit less afraid of the exam now :-) Odpowiedz Link Zgłoś
chica33 Re: LCCI Level III 26.11.03, 11:54 Lily, Of course it depends where you are going to pass that exam (I did it in Empik in Warsaw), but don't worry - I was afraid of speaking part too, but it was really easy, I didn't even realize when those 10 minutes passed. Why don't you try writing? Write an essay on each of those questions, surely it is more, more efficient than just reading... :-)). Doing this you order your issues and are able to memorize it better. And you don't need to speak non-stop - normally your examiner should encourage you to speak more by asking questions and giving ideas:-)) no worry. Speaking part is graded ONLY pass of fail, there is no other mark. (to be sure you can check in on their webside, but it was the first thing I was informed about when entered the exam room). Writing part has 3 levels: pass, pass with credit and pass with distinction. Those marks appear on your certificate, but actually you don't even need to pass speaking to get a certificate - there will be only writing part mark. You are right - the time is a little problem during the exam - try not to spend to much time on drafting - just summarize main issues on a separate page, and second thing: start from the one that you think it is the easiest question, the more difficult leave for the end - it will not be that difficult:-)))) Keep my fingers crossed, regards, Odpowiedz Link Zgłoś
Gość: Saba Re: LCCI Level III IP: *.adsl.wanadoo.nl 27.11.03, 20:26 Chica! talking about the grades, I got few years ago "passed with credit" and I had no idea what it means (oops), I checked in the English dictionary and I concluded that it's better than just passed, but my girlfriend got "passed with distinction" and I got confused, so I asked my English teacher (business English) and she told me that "passed with credit" means "hardly passed", so in other words - passed but not really sufficiently... (!) Until now I don't know what to think about it and I didn't make much effort to find it out. Can you help me with this? Greatings!
Rzuc go:-))))) A wiec pass - to po prostu zdane.
Gość: Saba Re: LCCI Level III IP: *.adsl.wanadoo.nl 28.11.03, 20:07 Chika, dzieki!
