/ eng / recruitment agencies fees

19.06.06, 17:00
according to kicior99, this is the first, official English thread, marked with /eng / in title. Ok, let's roll then!

I always was interested how much recruitment agencies charge when hiring people? eg. if they say your pay will be 10/h, how much do we loose? isn't it like the employer do pay 12/h, but we get only 10, and 2 goes to agency? or more? anybody knows the percentage, there's so many people working in recruitment out there, share if you can...

2. the second question is, can you break the deal with the agency and then hire yourself again with the same company, this time *directly* with your employer so he wouldn't have to pay us through the third parties and we could get more money?

peace

You can't. The company would have to pay a tremendous fine for breaking _their_
contract with the agency, so they wouldn't employ you in the first place.

the Company pays to the agency:
the employee's rate of pay + 12.8% for NIN + 8.33% as Holiday Pay + agency
margin. This should help you with your calculation.

        Good luck.

thanks a lot for the answers, seems it's never been a good deal in using agencies to get a well paid job, unless we really don't bother spending your time actively looking for employment, or have no time, whatever..

the only bright side in agencies I see at the moment is temping - a great way to get some valuable experience. "I want a job as xxx, max. 20 mins from the area I live, with hourly rate xx, 5 days a week for 3 months, no overtime expected, end of story. have you got some?" ;)

that's actually up to kind of agency you are signing contract with. You won't
find a well paid job with agency employing people with a poor
experience/education. But if you are for example experienced chemical engineer,
my friend could get you a job for up to 80k p.a.

which probably is 100k p.a. if you'd look for it on your own instead ;)

No it would not be 100k - you got it wrong.
It still would be 80k, just the company pays the agency one off fee, which is a
% of what the company's offer is.
