Hi, I am a New Zealander (Kiwi) who has been living here in Toruń
for the past 5 years. I am an English language teacher and am happy
to answer any questions about New Zealand. Hope to hear from you
soon. Best wishes, Glenn Standish TORUŃ DAILY PHOTO

Hi Glenn and welcome to the forum. Most of us here either live or
lived in New Zealand in the past, and we try our best to answer
questions those new to New Zealand have. However, comparing living
in Poland and living in New Zealand is always a topic that heats up
the debate, so it would be interesting to hear a Kiwi point of view,
if you feel like sharing yours.

      Hi Glenn,

nice to see you here. 5 years it's a long time, tell us how you see
Poland, what you like and what you don't? What you think about the
country and the people? Are you coming back to N.Z. or decided to
stay permanently in Poland? Take care smile

Hi Glenn, nice to see you here 
Before you get involved I just wanted to warn you about few things.
But if you have been leaving in Poland for so long you should
      already know that:

      1. Polish always know better
      2. Polish always complain, no matter what
      3. All Polish are the best doctors/lawyers/teachers etc. – so
      they don’t need any
      4. Only Poles can complain on Poland
      5. Polish can also complain on all the other
      countries/cultures/life styles etc.
      6. Germans are bad, no matter what, and everything bad that
happened to Poland is because of them (and Russians). If we are too
far away from Germans and Russians the bad guys can also be some
locals like Maoris, Blacks, Arabs, Indians, gay, women, cyclists
etc… We are sick if we don’t have an enemy!
      7. The glass is always half empty (or completely empty…wink,
      forget about half full

Are you sure you are brave enough and strong enough to survive this
forum? If yes – welcome 

(I was only joking – to show that I can complain about my
      complaining wink)

oh kasia kasia !!! what a mood you are in lately !!!

I have a domesticated Kiwi at home, so answer to your question is YES, there are
Kiwis livinig in Poland, but I only know a handfull of those who live here in
        Warsaw.

and looking at that particular crowd I can say, that after 5 years you can
either speak fluent polish (if you want) or none of it (or only "piwo prosze")
if you don't want to use polish...

        • kasia763 Re: NEW ZEALANDER LIVING IN POLAND 04.10.07, 17:31
You know… I have recently seen “Testosteron” (Polish guy in
Australian pub is THE BEST!!!) and I also study some internet forums
as well as Polish emigrants in London. But I still have a little bit
of sense of humour left and can laugh at my own complaining about
          everything.

To be honest I have never heard my Kiwi complaining and I’m a little
bit ashamed of my behaviour but what can I say – it’s just me and my
          culture smile
