"GM To Build Saab 4x4
Saab is going off-road. Insiders at parent company General Motors have said
that a new SUV will soon be wearing the Swedish firm's badge.
However, Saab fans will be shocked to learn that the car will be based on
GM's new mid-sized SUV truck platform and built in the US. Currently GM
produces three models on this chassis: the Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy
and Oldsmobile Bravada. But the phasing out of the Olds brand means the Saab
4x4 could slot in as the Bravada disappears.
The newcomer will be aimed at the US, and because it needs to hit the
showrooms as soon as possible, GM sources say only a few styling differences
will separate it from the three existing SUVs. That means it will have either
rear or four-wheel drive and a choice of a 290bhp 5.3-litre V8 or punchy
275bhp 4.3 straight-six. It's also likely to get the Oldsmobile's electronic
air suspension."
Widać, że GM ma już dość czekania na zyski.
Za jednym zamachem załatwili 5 spraw:
- napęd 4x4
- napęd na tył
- pierwszy SUV
- pierwszy R6
- pierwszy V8
Podejrzewam, że będzie jeszcze disel 3.0 V6.
Pozdrawiam
