Sunrise Queen - Side

This hotel is worth 10 stars. The accommodation is superb, the rooms being
large, beautifully furnished and kept spotlessly clean. Air conditioning is
quiet and very efficient and the fully furnished balcony overlooks one of the
seven swimming pools, terraces and sea. Location on the golden, sandy beach
is superb. Every care is taken to keep the beach clean and traders are not
allowed to approach sunbathers, you have to approach them if you wish to make
a purchase. The hotel is large and covers many levels - something like a
large wedding cake! It has every facility imaginable and the enormous staff
literally pander to your every whim! Breakfast and dinner is served al
fresco on large terraces overlooking the sea and the food is superb. The
staff are extremely friendly and attentive and cannot do enough to please.
We ate our lunch at the Waterfall restaurant most days during our two week
stay and once again found the food to be delicious and cheap. Alcoholic
drinks are quite expensive but we ventured out every evening to take
advantage of the excellent bars and their cheap drinks! A hotel "credit
card" is provided when you book in so that you need never carry money during
the day - you simply settle up at the end of your stay. The animation team
work very hard and do a wonderful job - however, all the staff are great and
never stop smiling or aiming to please. Side itself is a typical Turkish
resort, full of hassling stallholders. However, having experienced this in
many countries, we did not find it a problem.

They can be quite wearing but it is best to simply ignore them and walk by
without passing any comment. This resort is particuarly popular with
tourists from Germany, Holland, Eastern Europe etc but just about everybody
speaks English so language is not a problem.

Fantastic Hotel Clean and friendly. Food excellent although alcohol expensive
compared to the bars just outside, use of mini-bar in room to cool your own
drinks seemed to be accepted certainly no problems bringing anything back to
the hotel. Swimming pools clean and sun loungers plenty, even with alot of
German clientel no problems with Towels hogging loungers, always plenty and set
out spaciously so not sitting on top of one another.
Recommend Linda's Bar just outside Hotel Food great and alcohol cheap. Have a
      wonderful time!

This is my 3rd visit back to this veritable "palace". I've yet to hear of
anyone who isn't impressed by this hotel-indeed,first-timers invariably become
      repeat guests.

The journey to the resort takes approx 1 hr, and is along decent roads. The
long graceful palm lined drive takes you to the marblelled reception area-
complete with indoor aviary. this is where you come in contact with the hotels
most famous guest-Baba the parrot! His antics have to be seen to be believed!

Bellboys and porters take care of your luggage, and deliver it to your room. And
like the reception area, the use of marble is all over the place!

I was here for two weeks. Arrived around 11;30 sunday night, to find, that
after checking in, the hotel had arranged a meal for us-a nice touch.

The rooms are beyond reproach-you have a bedside remote control that controls
30 ch sat tv,lights, air con, privacy, and even the front door! English tv
channels comprise of BBC Prime, BBC World and CNN. BBC World is still awful.
Its ok for the weather in the area tho,

The hotel certainly lives up to and way beyond its five star status, it must be
the most photographed / videoed hotel in Side, judging by the numbers of people
walking along the beach to Side, who stop, stare point and gasp at the place
      and its total grandeur!

It is packed with masses of things to do, see and take part in. Has it's own
Night club, animation(entertainment) team who are very good,

Then there's the food. i defy anyone to starve at the SQ. the food , choice and
quality is simply superb! They also cater for clients who require specialist
foods such as coeliacs and others- So don't be afraid of "will there be
anything that i'll like"? Because there will be.

Its all buffet service and the breakfasts are staggering- i have never seen so
many varieties of bread! your choices are unrestricted. I can recommend
the "made to your liking with what you want in it" omlettes.

The evening meals are similar in quality, variety, you can eat as little or as
much as you want! Then there are the superb Turkish speciality puds! Forget the
      diet!!!

As it's a 5 star palace, the bar prices are somewhat dearer than what you'd pay
at a local bar. Beer is "efes" and in the hotel whilst i were there in Oct 2002
was around approx 5m turkish lira which at that time equated to £2;10. No cash
is used, you have a plastic card and pay your bill when ever you wish while
you're there. Like most hotels, simply have a wander down the drive on to the
main road where theres a plethora of bars / resturants etc and the same beer,
same quantity will set you back around 70p!

If the exotic food at the "queen" tires you, then you can dine out extremly
cheaply-two large beers and a good meal (not a snack)will set you back around
      £4.

If the weather allows it-take your meals on the terraces, especially breakfasts.

The hotel is geared up for a lot of nationalities, the staff speak several
languages, and you'll find that within the resort of Side ( a lovely 30min walk
along the beach or a dolmus ride of 10 mins) the prices are predominantly in
      Euro's.
