rude Heather

30.07.06, 11:59
Sir Paul McCartney has launched formal divorce proceedings against his wife
Heather. The former Beatle has cited the ex-model's "unreasonable behaviour"
for the end of their four year marriage. The 64-year-old is said to be worth
at least £800 million.

His papers are said to allege Heather was "rude" to his loyal staff
and "argumentative", according to The Sun.

Sir Paul is being represented by lawyer Fiona Shackleton, who represented
Prince Charles in his divorce from Diana.

However, the Sun says 38-year-old Heather is livid at the accusations.

A spokeswoman is reported as saying: "Heather's going to be filing her own
counter-claims about matters, both here and in America.

"Any view she has on her divorce will be handled discreetly. She does not
feel the need to repudiate claims that she may be headstrong or feisty."

The couple, who have a two-year-old daughter Beatrice, confirmed they were to
split in May.

It prompted speculation that Heather could receive as much as ?200 million in
a divorce settlement.

The couple met in 1999 at a charity event a year after Sir Paul's wife of 29
years, Linda, died from cancer.

The news comes 24 hours after the Beatle was photographed without his wedding
ring during a visit to his fame school in Liverpool.

maggie, I could care less. Gives the tabloids something to write about.

I think she'll get more than GBP 200 million.

After all, what does it matter to him if he has GBP 600 million or GBP 400
million? You don't feel the benefit of that kind of money.

So, I've been away. What's the latest on this Mills/McCarteney debacle?

            uk.news.yahoo.com/11092006/364/mccartney-idiot-prenup-says-trump.html
Sir Paul McCartney has been labelled "idiotic" by property tycoon Donald Trump
for not writing up a prenuptial agreement before marrying Heather Mills.

Twice-divorced Trump, who married for the third time to model Melania Knauss in
January 2005, has criticised McCartney for allowing romance to cloud his
judgement, insisting business should always come before love.

He says, "I know I sound like a broken record, but get a prenup. I don't care
how much you love your fiancee, it's just idiotic to get married without one.

"Don't believe me? Ask Paul McCartney what he thinks. I know he wishes he had
            one."

McCartney and Mills separated in May and are currently in the process of
            getting a divorce.

              uk.news.yahoo.com/18102006/140/heather-mills-macca-beat.html

Heather Mills has reportedly accused Paul McCartney of violently attacking her
during their four-year marriage. The ex-model claims her estranged husband even
stabbed her in the arm with a broken wine glass during one heated argument.

The allegations are made in documents said to be court papers filed by Mills.

They portray McCartney, a former Beatle, as a "vindictive" man who regularly
hurled abuse at his wife and even attacked her while she was pregnant.

The couple are involved in a £1bn divorce battle after splitting in May.

Mills claims in the documents that during the course of their marriage
              McCartney:

:: Stabbed her in the arm with a broken wine glass after one argument then
flung her into a wheelchair, demanding she apologise for "winding him up".

:: Grabbed her by the neck and pushed her over a coffee table.

:: Pushed her into a bath while she was four weeks pregnant.

:: Started choking her after she asked him if he had been smoking drugs.

:: Continued to use illegal drugs and drink excessively, despite promises made
              before they married.

:: Called her an "ungrateful bitch" in a dispute over an office.

:: Tried to stop her breastfeeding, saying: "They are my breasts" and "I don't
              want a mouthful of breastmilk".

:: Made her cancel a crucial operation because it interfered with his holiday
              plans.

:: Objected when she asked to buy a bedpan to save her crawling to the toilet
at night, saying it would be like being in "an old woman's home".

:: Forced her to crawl on her hands and knees up the steps of a plane because
they were not wide enough for her wheelchair.

:: Vomited on himself after a drinking session and staggered home drunk and
              slurring, demanding his dinner.

Sir Paul has reportedly denied the claims.

The couple, who have a two-year-old daughter, Beatrice, confirmed they were to
              split on May 17.

They met in 1999 at a charity event a year after McCartney's wife of 29 years,
              Linda, died from cancer.

Mills's spokesman told the Daily Mail: "I can't confirm the validity of these
              documents."

Newfoundlanders say seal-saving might have spurred couple to split.

'Homewrecker' Hearn takes credit for busting up McCartney marriage
      By MARTIN O’HANLON

OTTAWA (CP) - An unlikely homewrecker is taking tongue-in-cheek credit for
busting up the marriage of rock legend Paul McCartney.

Federal Fisheries Minister Loyola Hearn said he and fellow Newfoundlander Danny
Williams helped take the shine off the former Beatle's relationship with Heather
Mills. So how did a couple of East Coasters manage to orchestrate such a
      stunning marital meltdown?

Hearn said it all started with McCartney's famous appearance last spring on the
"Larry King Live" CNN show. McCartney, an animal rights activist, was debating
Williams, the Newfoundland and Labrador premier, on the merits of the seal hunt.

Hearn said McCartney showed respect for the points Williams made in defence of
the hunt, but his wife - apparently a more zealous anti-sealing activist - was
      "not so gracious."

McCartney saw a different woman that night, Hearn said, and that may have
      changed his view of her.

"And we'll take some credit for that," he joked.

The McCartney breakup was music to the ears of many Newfoundlanders, who
resented the couple's interference in the hunt.

Of course, it hasn't been all bad news for anti-sealing celebrities. Hearn noted
that Pamela Anderson got hitched - to musician Kid Rock - after protesting the
      seal hunt.

Hearn isn't the first Parliament Hill politician to be linked to a high-profile
breakup, though he may be the first to publicize it.

Last month, the wife of former Toronto Maple Leaf Tie Domi served divorce papers
claiming the NHLer had an affair with Liberal MP Belinda Stronach.

And last year, Stronach had a very public - and very nasty - split with fellow
MP Peter MacKay after she defected to the Liberals from the Tories.

My advice to Sir Paul? Pay up now - and get a gagging order
        By Marilyn Stowe
A leading UK divorce lawyer tells Sir Paul McCartney that life's too short to
put up with damaging press speculation

Today's stories of alleged drinking, drug-taking and domestic violence within
the McCartney household are the latest, but possibly not the last, in a chain of
revelations associated with what is fast becoming one of the most high-profile
        marriage breakdowns in history.

So what could be driving the salacious revelations from both sides of the
McCartney fence? Are their emotions running out of control? Or do they simply
not realise that the divorce field is one playing pitch where the bigger the
ego, the easier it is to score an own goal?

I can't help but wonder whether, when Sir Paul and Lady McCartney have time to
reflect, they won't bitterly regret engaging in the behaviour which has seen the
lid lifted on the minute details of their wealth, lifestyle and family?
Especially when - from my own experience - this behaviour is likely to have
little impact on the final outcome of their settlement. A dripfeed of
deliberately shocking revelations to the media may succeed in swaying public
opinion - at least until the next story comes along - but it will make no
        difference to the courts.

Thousands of marriages end each year. But, like so many people caught up in the
emotional fall out of marital breakdown, Sir Paul may have misjudged what the
        fall-out would be.

No doubt he would have wanted to ensure that nothing Lady Heather did in the
future could rebound on him or his family. If that was so, issuing proceedings
against her on the basis of her unreasonable behaviour may not with hindsight
have been the best way to achieve that. What's the phrase - a woman scorned?

And because our divorce law, which is sorely in need of reform, currently allows
couples to wallow in each other's conduct, he seems to have unwittingly opened a
very large and damaging can of worms.

So what to do about it? If the former Beatle has offered £30million, which leaks
to the press suggest has happened, it is a reasonable offer as far as I am
concerned. But overall, in the context of his wealth, reputedly approaching
£1billion, it's an offer that Lady McCartney is unlikely to accept and one which
will easily be challenged in court.

That will be where the real fight begins. The risk for Sir Paul is that details
may continue to emerge that will (whether they are true or not) damage him
        irreparably.

Lady McCartney's story, if she were ever to think of selling it, would be worth
untold millions in worldwide book, TV and film rights. And that, in my opinion,
is the real value of settling her claim; namely to prevent the lasting damage
she could potentially cause to the entire McCartney clan, including Sir Paul's
        talented daughters, Stella and Mary.

So Sir Paul, my advice to you is to be commercial. Put aside all your natural
and understandable emotional feelings. Forget the media baying at your door and
the horrible and unnecessary backbiting we're witnessing. Its only ego after
all. And life consists of so much more.

There is a price to pay for peace of mind, for all of you. Pay up, do it quickly
and get a "gagging order" as part of the deal. You and all your family,
including your wife and child, still have a chance of walking away with dignity.
You can even, in time, try to rebuild a relationship of sorts with Lady
McCartney. You should do. Put a stop to this press speculation now.
