Let the Missionaries Go Free!

I have given some thought to these missionaries and have concluded
that they were guilty of trying to help as many kids as they could
without going through the normal channels. Because the situation
wasn't normal, and because they acted in haste, there is every
reason believe that their intentions were charitable, and to set
them free. Those naive people thought that every child, orphan or no
orphan, "needed a home right then and there." It's not completely
untrue! Under duress, I myself might have thought the same way.
Their case served as a reminder that Haiti needs to redouble its
protection of children. This is the great positive that has been
accomplished by this case. The Haitians should not waste a moment
more on suspecting ulterior motives in the missionaries' actions. It
is unbecoming to a great nation, like Haiti! They should devote all
their energies to prevent that any dubious situations with respect
to their children again arise, and should focus all their energies
on rebuilding.
