Akmad Kadyrov's older son wounded in a shooting incident in Gudermez district
of Chechnya

CHECHNYA, October 8, Caucasus Times - The elected president of Chechnya
Akhamd Hajji Kadyrov's older son was seriously wounded as a result of fire
assault at his car in Gudermez, the Caucasus Times correspondent reports
citing the Interior Ministry.

According to a source in the Ministry the incident occurred in the evening of
October 5 . Zelimkhan Kadyrov and his three bodyguards in their car came
under assault rifle fire from a car passing by in Gudermez district.

All four passengers including Zelimkhan suffered serious wounds in the fire
assault. Kadyrov's son has been reportedly delivered to a local hospital,
other reports said Zelimkhan was transported to hospital outside the republic.

The information about the incident has not been disclosed so far. Neither
Kadyrov's administration officials nor the Interior Ministry of Chechnya give
any hints of what happend. The attackers disappeared from the site. The
source in the Interior Ministry said large-scale law-enforcement agencies
forces are in pursuit of the suspects.

The elected President of Chechnya has excluded in this case any dialogue with
Maskhadov. Kadyrov stated that, he [Maskhadov] does not have any future in
Chechnya: "There's no place for him in Chechnya, his place - [is] in the
prison, or in the other world with Satan", - stated Kadyrov.

Details of attack on Kadyrov's son

With Kavkazcenter agency connected a commander of one of the special units
which are acting in the vicinity of Novogroznyy settlement of the Gudermes
district of CHRI and he reported that on the 5th of October the saboteur party
of Chechen soldiers pursued a passenger motor vehicle with Kadyrov's son in it
from the settlement of Novogroznyy to the village Melch-khi (Isti-Su), for
about 3 kilometers. In the village of Melch-khi the mujahadeen caught up with
Zelimkhan Kadyrov and attacked him and his security. As a result of this attack
Zelimkhan Kadyrov and his guards were badly wounded. The motor vehicle of
Kadyrov was thrown in a culvert. The mujahadeen were assured that Kadyrov was
killed, since many shots went into his vehicle. But, later some information
came, that Zelimkhan Kadyrov is alive, but he's in bad state.
