How should I translate "bluebird"?

Urgent help needed! How should I translate "a bluebird". Is
it "skowronek" or "slowik" or something else? I was searching the Net for a
day or two, but no results.
Please, recommend a good bilingual on-line dictionary, as I could help
myself in the future. Thanks in advance.

'Bluebird' is neither 'skowronek' nor 'slowik'. It is a N. American songbird,
with blue plumage ona its head, back, and tail (genus Sialia). Wonna
suggestion? I'd call it 'spiewajacy niebieski ptaszek'.

This is what I call 'an essential answer'. You helped me a lot. Especially
with Latin name - Sialia. I went for it and found that Polish equivalent might
be 'modraszka'. Now, ornitologist, are you out there? Correct me whether am I
wrong or not.
Now the hint. The name 'bluebird' is used in film called 'K-PAX'. One of the
task that prot gave to a patient was connected to 'bluebird'. Does anybody
seen the film recently and know how the interpreters face the translation?

Now the hint. The name 'bluebird' was used in a film called 'K-PAX'. The
main character - Prot gave a task to a patient to look for a bluebird. I
wonder if anybody seen recently the film and can remind me what Polish
equivalent was used istead od 'bluebird'

My point was that the Russians have much better dictionaries than the Poles, so
I am unable to understand why the Poles think that they are superior to the

Datsun Bluebird translates now into Nissan Bluebird. Ask at any
Nissan dealership!

The other obvious choice of reading a text is to notice its figurative
language. As you know, both blue and bird are some of the most symbolic terms
that always are used in literature/film/theatre. Therefore, depending on the
context, and I haven't seen the movie you mention, you might substitute
equivalent polish term to fit its English idiomatic meaning.
