oś symetrii

Would anybody be so kind and tell me how is "oś symetrii" in English? For
English-speaking ones: this is the line in the "middle" os something
symmetrical. I think that simple translation from Polish, axis of symmetry or
something like that, doesn't work here?

there's something like 'symmetry axis'.
