"Jo Malone has departed from its usual fragrance combining concept
with its latest fragrance line.

The Kohdo Wood Collection was inspired by the ancient Japanese
incense ceremony of Kohdo, which dates back to the sixth century and
in which Japanese noblemen would guess which emotion was triggered
by a particular incense.

The collection comprises two fragrances – one for the day and one
for the night – of which water lily, amber and sandalwood form a
common spine.

Lotus Blossom & Water Lily is designed to energise the body for the
day. The fragrance opens with an aquatic accord, grapefruit,
bergamot and mandarin. The floral heart is composed of sacred lotus
blossom, freesia, honeysuckle, water lily and jasmine, drying down
to a woody, spicy base of temple incense, amber, sandalwood, musk,
aloeswood and guaiac.

In contrast, Dark Amber & Ginger Lily provides a more mellow,
sensual mood for the evening. The top notes combine black cardamom,
pink pepper and ginger. The heart has rich night blooming jasmine,
orchid, water lily and rose, while the base features black amber,
white pepperwood, leather, patchouli, sandalwood and Kyara incense
accord.

In another departure for the Estée Lauder-owned brand, the night
fragrance’s bottle is tinted black to contrast with the day
fragrance’s traditional transparent cologne bottle.

“We’re very proud of the ingredients we have chosen. They capture
the spirit of today’s mood with lots of vintage black notes,” said
Jo Malone’s head of training, Debbie Wild. “Both fragrances can be
beautifully combined if you want – especially if you bathe in the
day fragrance bath oil and then apply the night fragrance.”

On counter from May till December, the colognes are priced £30/€49
for 30ml and £59/€88 for 100ml. the bath oil is priced £52/€85 and
the home candle has a price tag of £38/€61.50.

However, Wild doesn’t rule out the possibility that the fragrances
might join the permanent line-up. “If they sell well enough, we
would consider adding them to the collection. That’s what happened
with the Verbena fragrance,” she said.

In the meantime, Jo Malone is working on a major fragrance launch
for October."

najnowsza propozycja, Magnolia Romana, to już nie jego dzieło?

a na marginesie - jak to jest, że oficjalne strony często są "do tyłu"? na

Mysle, ze nie bedzie to w praktyce oznaczalo wylacznosci tworzenia
zapachow dla L'Artisana, a samej marce sie tylko przysluzy- bo jej
kompozycje sa raczej nierowne.
A strony firmowe- fakt, sa nieraz zaniedbywane- choc jakby nie
patrzec- French Lover to wciaz ostatni z FM, choc raczej juz nie
super nowy :-).

Outrageous nie jest zapachem Malle'a z linii Les Editions- tylko
kreacja jedynie na wylacznosc domu towarowego Barneys- inna etykieta
itd.- dlatego tez Grojsman nie figuruje wsrod nosow marki i nie jest
mozliwa e-sprzedaz tej kompozycji poza strona Barneys.

Roznie bywa z wylacznoscia- zobaczymy jak to bedzie wygladac w
praktyce. Co do Giacobetti- ciagle mam nadzieje na wskrzeszenie
Iunxa, no zobaczymy :-).

take on nose Thierry Wasser as its exclusive in-house perfumer
starting this June. He will join the company from fragrance-creation
company Firmenich, where he has worked since 1993. His creations
include Iris Ganache and Quand Vient la Pluie for Guerlain as well
as Diesel Fuel for Life for Her and Emporio Armani Diamonds for
L’Oréal and the Kylie Minogue scents for Coty.

“This appointment upholds the Guerlain philosophy of entrusting its
olfactory creations to a ‘nose’, a tradition that has been followed
for almost 180 years,” Guerlain ceo Laurent Boillot said in a
statement. “Five generations of Guerlain perfumers have produced an
incomparable body of know-how, illustrated by bold creations, unique
in the history of perfumery.”

Jean-Paul Guerlain, consultant to the company’s presidency on
creation and raw materials, will continue “guiding Guerlain and its
