There is something in common between us

30.06.05, 09:20
WASHINGTON, June 24 (RIA Novosti, Arkady Orlov) - The majority of Russians
are sure that Russia is not popular overseas, according to a survey conducted
by a non-government organization and covering almost 17,000 people in 16
countries, including Russia.

The Washington-based Pew Research Center, which is headed by former U.S.
State Secretary Madeleine Albright, said in the statement that the majority
of Russians respondents (57%) said Russia was largely negatively perceived
abroad.

Russia finished at the bottom three countries when it came to the number of
people satisfied with the state of affairs in the country, with 71%
dissatisfied and 23% satisfied.

The Germans (73%, 25%) and Poles (82%, 13%) finished below Russia.

Me too. For his inhospitality, for his misbehaviour, and for his poor English.

You wanted to know Polish attitudes towards Russian

Well, I won't mind if Russians settle on Mars or Saturn sattelites in the
future. Actually, Polish people could help this project with our doubled
        efforts in the space :)
As for Chechnya, I have no opinion on this item. Russian media are dry and
quite sensitive about this coflict. I don't trust foreign media as well because
I'm afraid American democratization of Russia = balkanization of Russia.
Still there's an informational war going on.

I dont want russians satelites in Saturn, I have dreame, beautiful dream, about
all the russian barbarians, killers from Czernokozowo, Katyń, Workuta, kołyma
and their sons who have the same big problems for 500 years with being
civilisation nation, starting on old sajuz, and flay to Mars or Uran. How you
see some peoples in Poland hate russian barbarians and we have many reasons to
think such wrong about your barbarian nations. If you want change my opinion,
if russian barbarians want change my and other Polish opinions, you mast stop
laying about history second world war, about holocaust in Czeczenia, and start
          build democracy in russia.

In my opinion, it is very wrong to commit atrocities in order to keep one's
empire together. On my scale of values, persons come before countries. But
this seems to be a sort of historical regularity: if you are big, you do not mind
some slaughtering of the small ones.

All the biggest empires in the present world, USA, Russia and China, are equally
guilty of genocide. When Poland was big and strong, she misbehaved in a similar
way too. The world would be better off without the superpowers. I would warmly
welcome Russia desintegrating, the USA losing its leading role and China falling
          apart.

Me too:), but, in fact, the world is built not on chaos, it needs a real,
strong leader (or a few leaders, because peoples need it, we all know 'bout it,
            don't we?
Nowadays, it seems polish peoples are about to lose its possibility to think in
a way- as German says - "schadefreude", I mean "dear God, I do not want you to
do the best for me, just want you to do worse for my neighbour":))).
I think (and I hope), most (ruling, well-educated or making business) people
know and understand, we are presumed to live side by side and have to do with
each other. Other words, like it or not, you do not choose your neighbours,
just have it. But, I hope, people in Poland would like Russia to be a strong,
wise and rich neighbour. Alas - as I think- not even a quarter of Poles think
just like it. The trouble is, too strong neighbour could snick in to their
neighbours' business (Chechnya for example, the tragic history of its people).
Russia just have to keep an eye on its trophies and could even bestialise, such
as it goes with other countries.
            Best wishes!
