Have you found it easy to settle back into Scotland again?

I'm living down south at the moment, but settling in has been less weird than
I'd expected. I've got used to the local dialect, and all the newsagents sell
          Scottish papers and beer.
On the one hand it's good to be back in a normal country where pedestrians
ignore traffic lights and folk call strangers "mate" instead of all
that "proszę Pana" bollocks, but the cakes here are crap.
After spending so long in Poland, it's refreshing to be somewhere where instead
of sitting moaning about corruption, violence, drug abuse, alcoholism, bad diet
and swearing, actually get off their arses and get actively involved in these
          things.
The Polish media (online, anyway) have been going on about some chubby English
infant being taken into care because he weighs 5 tons and his mother's a total
buffoon. Yesterday I overheard two women talking about it: Ye knaa yon fat lad
from wor street wot were in t'Chronicle? Aye? Well 'e were on t'national news.
Ah couldnat believe it, man, woman! Howay, poo-a kid.
          Or something like that.
There's a Russian shop round the corner run by a cheery Estonian, with twaróg
and stuff, so I can make pierogis and stuff when necessary (some shops sell
Polish food, but it's mainly cheapo frozen nonsense and that crappy Pudliszki
          shite in jars).

wink it's great to be able to get twaróg from the Russian shop, heh?... i'd
recommend you try serniczki... i.e. flattish twaróg-balls, made with twaróg and
a little kasza manna, fresh from the frying pan... mmm.

as for that kid, he was NINETY-NINE KILOS!!! at xmas time (now he's 89kg). it's
unbelievable that parents refuse to exercise any kind of control/influence over
their children's diet. i mean, do you think the kid's HAPPY to be that huge?

You get addicted to bad food - many kids won't eat raspberries and strawberries
        because they are too bitter

Au contraire, his stupid mother stupidly claims that Social Services shouldn't
confiscate her bairn, because it's their fault in the first place for not
intervening earlier and preventing her from being such a crap parent.
Stupid cow, if there was any justice he'd eat her.
In self-defence with a green salad.
